I never thought I'd...#1

I never thought I'd be one of those moms at a restaurant, surrounded by evidence of a baby (i.e., toys, burp cloth and booster seat), but eating solo. Aha! Now I get why you seldom see babies at restaurants past 7 p.m. This is their wind-down time, that is, if they're not already snug-as-a-bug-in-a-rug in bed. I thought I was doing a great job at molding Izzy to "our" schedule and not conforming to "hers." Apparently this only works between the hours of 7 and 7. Anything in between equals trying to keep your cool in a public place while your baby is squirming and/or eating solo. I knew this. I just had to try it out for myself. Lesson learned.

welcome to the other half of your life. there's more lessons to learn, like why your other kidless friends or family don't understand why you just can't leave the house on a whim.

I remember this ""situation" clearly ... it was so much fun when you try so hard to stay by having one parent get up and walk the baby around until the baby stops crying , meanwhile every body's food is getting cold, because you don't want to eat alone lol.. oh and then there's the waitress that doesn't come around when you just need those TO GO boxes ASAP!!!! Grrrrr... and every one in the restaurant has their eyes on you, and you know they're thinking " Don't they know that babies tired? The baby should be at home sleeping already haha". ohhhh yep... been there done that . Too funny good times!
