8:18 AM Chiang Mai; 6:18 PM Sat., Sept. 14 PST
Today’s color: Yellow to represent the King and to honor the day of his birth.
We are on our way to the elephant farm where we will get to see, first hand, how the animals are trained. Originally, elephants in Thailand were used for the logging industry, but since it has banned, the elephants are now trained mainly for entertainment. Patty tells us that we will be able to buy sugarcane and bananas to feed to the elephants. She also tells us that elephants are vegetarians, and their dung is used to make paper. Oh shit!
