I'm Thailand bound in September, and I'm starting to think that I'd like to have a camera of my own. We have a fancy digital one, but technically it belongs to the husband. I can use it for a few shots, but beyond that it's hands off for me. I've been eyeing a Lomo camera. At first I was thinking of getting the Fisheye because it's relatively inexpensive. Plus, I could get the underwater combo for our stop in Phuket. But then I thought, "Do I really want all of my pictures to be forced into one circular, fishbowl form?
So now I'm thinking about the Lomo LC-A + Krab + the Fisheye adaptor, and possibly the wide-angle lens. That would solve the underwater capabilities, and provide a variety of photo combos from close-ups and action shots, to wide-angle shots to Fisheye forms. I'm torn because all of these items would be fun and compact(ish), but then I'd have to develop all the rolls of film.
Decision: TBD

i like my fisheye...but don't LOVE it...i get sick of looking at everything in a circle. and i've been spoiled with digitals so the anticipation in waiting to see the final outcome (especially when you're on vacation) is pestiferous to say the least. lomo's are fun though...and the color saturation is beautifully intense...if you want to take random (not so perfect) shots, just capturing pure accidental moments, and can deal with developing film (i can't deal with getting/developing film, hence i hardly use it)...get a lomo. but get the LC-A + all the adaptors/lenses.
i have an idea...wait on the lomo but get another good camera...i'll bring mine to thailand, we'll buy lots of film, and we'll share it since russ and i have our own cameras too. we'll print doubles of everything...then you can see if you still want to purchase a fisheye.
